Black Cat
Libra Horoscope for week of May 3, 2007

Through a tip from one of my readers, I discovered that the California State Division of Unclaimed Property was holding $405.85 for me from a class action lawsuit settled 15 years ago. The agency had a very old address on file, and didn't know how to get in touch with me. I contacted them, and am now a bit richer. I predict you will experience a comparable event in the coming week. It's possible that like me, you'll gain possession of a resource you didn't even know has been yours. Or maybe you'll inherit your great-uncle's coin collection or be reunited with a dream you lost track of. In one way or another, Libra, I believe the past will give you a gift.

What American accent do you have?
Created by Xavier on Memegen.net

Midland. The Midland (please don't confuse with "Midwest") itself is the neutral zone between the North and South. But just because you have a Midland accent doesn't mean you're from there. Since it is considered a neutral, default, "non-regional" accent you could easily be from someplace without its own accent, like Florida, or a big city in the South like Dallas, Houston, or Atlanta.

Take this quiz now - it's easy!
We're going to start with "cot" and "caught." When you say those words do they sound the same or different?

Black Cat
you are mediumorchid
#BA55D3

Your dominant hues are red and blue. You're confident and like showing people new ideas. You play well with others and can be very influential if you want to be.

Your saturation level is medium - You're not the most decisive go-getter, but you can get a job done when it's required of you. You probably don't think the world can change for you and don't want to spend too much effort trying to force it.

Your outlook on life is brighter than most people's. You like the idea of influencing things for the better and find hope in situations where others might give up. You're not exactly a bouncy sunshine but things in your world generally look up.

For about 3 years now, I and others like me, have been arguing/fighting with the higher ups on the subject of conferences and whether they are considered training or not and should we be able to use our own company credit cards to pay for the registration fees. The training office says they are training (actually I would agree), however, the training office is so slow in getting things paid for, that some employees have missed out on conferences and university classes because the registration was not paid for on time.  So we've been fighting to be able to pay for it ourselves and finally won the battle.

The conference that caused the whole stir has come around again, we got our official approval from the Captain (I work for the Navy) and now everyone is ready to create the purchase requisitions.  However, they want to use the training overhead account number to pull the funds from.

Hello? If we pull from those funds, we are agreeing that it's training and proving their original point.  Duh!  And they are fighting me on this!  We made such a stink about it and I wasted my time and breath for nothing? They'll take it away from us again!

Man, I hate stupid people!  Especially ones with doctorate degrees. It seems like such an oxymoron.
